  • Governor Pataki unveiled his new e-Commerce Initiative and announced the establishment of a digital "Government Without Walls" in New York State.

  • Governor Pataki made history by signing his e-Commerce bill electronically. This initiative allows citizens and businesses continuous access to government information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

  • Through the Governor’s e-Commerce/e-Government initiative, citizens and businesses are able to directly access State systems and data online, making services convenient, secure, and easy to use.

  • Under Pataki’s leadership, New York is the first State in the nation to ban sales taxes for purchases over the Internet.

  • Governor Pataki’s Electronic Signature Records Act provides the same legal weight to government permits and legal documents filed electronically as those filed manually.

  • Governor Pataki’s NYeNet statewide e-Commerce/e-Government initiative provides New Yorkers with on-line access to government services like paying taxes, renewing driver’s licenses and applying for student loans.
