- Governor Pataki has cut 19 different taxes 63 different times, saving New York taxpayers a total of $67 billion. In fact, once all of Governor Patakis tax cuts have been enacted, New Yorkers will have saved more than $100 billion.
- This year, Governor Patakis income tax cut saves the average New York taxpayer $600. Since Governor Pataki has taken office the average New York taxpayer has saved a total of $3,711.
- Once Governor Patakis tax cuts are fully phased in, the average New Yorkers personal income tax bill will be 20% less than what they paid before the Governor took office.
- Governor Patakis historic STAR program dramatically reduces property taxes for every New York homeowner; helping our seniors keep their homes and helping young families realize their dream of home ownership.
- Governor Patakis STAR program saves New York homeowners $2.6 billion each year, an average savings of $600 a year in property taxes—a drop of 27%.
- And under Governor Patakis STAR program, New Yorks seniors save over $900 a year—a drop of 45%. In fact, nearly 200,000 seniors now pay no school property taxes at all!
- Governor Pataki has reduced business taxes in New York State by $2.7 billion in tax year 2002. In total, businesses in New York State have saved $13.3 billion since Governor Pataki has taken office.
- Governor Pataki has virtually eliminated the marriage penalty tax by expanding the standard deduction for couples filing jointly.
- Governor Pataki eliminated the Estate Tax, saving New York families, farms and small businesses nearly $450 million a year.
